No. We chose to eliminate health insurance for several reasons:

1. Insurance often doesn’t cover men’s health issues, TRT, peptides, or medical weight loss. However, we do accept FSA or HSA benefit cards that you can submit to your insurance.

2. Eliminating insurance eliminates the “middle man.” Insurance dictates what flies and what doesn’t in healthcare. We didn’t want someone behind a computer with an algorithm deciding what was best for our patients

Each client is invoiced at the beginning of their membership, and then 30 days later. For Example, if you initiate membership on June 4, your initial invoice will be then, as well as 30 days later for each month you choose to be a member with Redefined Health Clinic.

Testosterone:

TRT stands for testosterone replacement therapy. Testosterone is given by injection or topical application to optimize hormone levels and treat symptoms such as loss of muscle mass, decreased libido, fatigue, and brain fog.

No. There are a lot of options: compounded creams, tablets, and troches that sit under your tongue and dissolve. However, injections are what is most recommended. Injections are much easier to control results and maintain a healthy balance. The minimal fluctuation with the shots helps reduce side effects as well.

It typically takes about 1-2 months for your testosterone to build up in your system. That is when most people notice the benefits, such as more energy, better sleep, and motivation. However, some patients have noticed results in just a couple of weeks.

It is recommended that you stay on testosterone therapy. If you come off testosterone, your levels will just drop back to where you were before you started treatment. It’s a lot like diabetes – once you’re on insulin, you’re on it for the rest of your life because the pancreas won’t make enough for your body anymore.

At your initial appointment, we will order labs and then discuss those labs at a second appointment within 1-2 weeks. From there, you will get labs 3 months later. Once you are therapeutic, we will get labs every 6 months.

If you have lab work from another provider, great! You can bring it with you to your appointment or upload a copy of it to our HIPPA-compliant patient portal. But if those labs are more than 3 months old, we might have to order updated blood work.

Also, we order a very comprehensive lab panel full of hormones, vitamins, and other important markers for your health. Other clinics don’t often order these labs.

Myths:

Testosterone does not cause prostate cancer. However, if you already have prostate cancer, then testosterone can cause the cancer to grow more quickly. We screen for this very closely and therefore catch it early.

New studies show that TRT will reduce the risk of heart attacks or strokes. When done correctly, including monitoring your blood count, testosterone is healthy for your heart and helps protect against further heart disease. Couple this with a healthy diet, exercise, and weight/resistance training for a healthy lifestyle

Yes, TRT can lower sperm production and potentially cause infertility, especially if used long term.  If preserving fertility is important, there are alternative treatments that can support both testosterone levels and sperm health—our providers can discuss these options with you.
